Llys Rhosyr

CoinDiscovered in 1992 by Archaeologist Neil Johnstone, Llys Rhosyr is one of the Llysoedd or Royal courts of Llywelyn Fawr, Prince of Gwynedd in the 13th century. It is situated in the South West of the isle of Anglesey near Newborough Parish Church on the road leading to the beautiful Llanddwyn island with its popular beaches, where Saint Dwynwen the renowned Welsh Saint of lovers resided. To date only one quarter of the Llys Rhosyr site has been excavated and it is hoped that in the future funds can be raised to further excavate and develop this site.Presently the Interpretation Centre for Llys Rhosyr is based at the Prichard Jones Institute in the of Newborough.
